What I stand by...

LISTEN TO MY AUDIO:

I consider myself a unique and quirky yet hardworking young women with a firm belief to stand out against others. As I have grown as an artist I have developed an enthusiasm for spreading an awareness about the importance of equality and how unfair treatment regarding different groups of people has a detrimental profound affect upon society. I believe everyone should be treated with the same amount of respect regardless of their gender, age, class, ethnicity etc and to treat these individuals/groups any differently is completely unacceptable! This firm viewpoint has become apparent to me throughout my part time job working for the Barnardo's charity, whereby daily I am exposed to conversations related to enslavement, torture and rape.

My story...

HELLO and welcome, you found my site! My name is Sophie Rose, I am an upcoming Australian artist with a passion to encourage anyone with a talent to dream big and to strive to be the very best they can be so that their full potential is achieved. My love for music began when I was only six years old, I was taken to the Sydney Opera House in 2004 to watch the Canadian artist 'Michael Buble' perform. The sensation I felt inside me throughout the entire performance was a feeling that will remain with me forever, and in that moment I had made my mind up that I was going to become a successful singer just like him!  When I am not creating my own music I enjoy reading, travelling, hanging out with my friends and being creative with my makeup looks  :)

Establishing ' Reality'...

As a fortunate young individual I only want to help emend the lives of those less fortunate than myself, and a way that I wish to show my desire to do so is through singing. That's what has lead me onto the establishment of 'Reality'. 'Reality' is my latest single release that underpins a protest genre over the subject matter of 'Child abuse/neglect'. The visual aspects of the video convey a narrative structure of a young girl who experiences constant abuse and neglect from her parents, we are shown the daily struggles she experiences and how she remains strong until she escapes the trauma to start her new life with a new loving family. The reason I chose to protest over this subject is because its a topic that is extremely close to home, but not only that, I personally feel that this topic is underrepresented, so by raising awareness I am increasing public interest in society which will result in reduced suffering and provide help to those who need it.
